Is it safe to visit South Africa?
A great deal has been reported in the international
press recently regarding crime in South Africa,
to the point where some governments are suggesting that their citizens do not
visit South Africa.
Yes, crime is a problem in South Africa, but this
does not have to stop you from visiting this beautiful
country, that has so much to offer. It's just a matter of going about it in the
right way.
Regarding crime and your safety, cities in South
Africa are no different from any cities throughout the
world. There are many areas that it is quite safe to visit, and then there are
the "no go" areas which
are to be avoided.
Most attacks on overseas tourists have taken place
either in these "no go" areas, or when tourists venture
out on their own late at night. The most vulnerable are the tourists who do
their own thing, and either do
not seek the right information about where to go and where not to go, or tend to
disregard this information.
By making use of the services of a reputable tour
company (like ourselves) with registered tour guides,
you can reduce the likelyhood of becoming a victim of crime by a huge margin. Of
course, nobody can
guarantee that you will be 100% safe, but we come pretty damn close!
